OUR SACRIFICIAL RETURNS TO THE LORD
Jesus healed ten lepers in today’s Gospel. Only one (10%) came back to say thank you. I, too, have received many blessings from the Lord – indeed, all I am and all I have is gift! How and how often have I remembered to thank Him?

TITHING TEACHES
Tithing teaches the happy virtue of gratitude. We tend to think of ourselves as
“self-made.” We forget that all we have, we have received. Tithing changes the
attitude, too, for tithing is an acknowledgment that “it is God that hath made
us and not we ourselves.” (Psalms 100:3).
The person who tithes is saying “Thank you” to God for health, food, family,
love and life. Tithing teaches that the love of God is the creative factor in
every person’s life.
PARISH NEWS
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our
time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Amen

***YOUTH- NCYC ***
In one month, 12 of our high school youth, as well as our Pastor, Fr. Bruce, 2
adult chaperones, and 1 young adult, will be heading to Columbus, Ohio for the
National Catholic Youth Conference. The NCYC is the largest Catholic youth
gathering in the U.S., with up to 25,000 young people and adult chaperones
attending from all over the country. The theme for this year’s conference is
“Discover the Way”, and the following scripture passage provides the basis for
this theme. “Where I am going, you know the way.” Thomas said to him, “Master,
we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him,
“I am the way and the truth and the life…” (John 14:4-6a) As we prepare for this
pilgrimage of faith, I ask that as a parish, you keep all of us in your
prayers. I encourage each of you to consider writing notes of prayer and
inspirational thoughts to the youth for distribution while at the NCYC. Such an
effort not only reminds youth that they are loved, but also promotes the
importance of community. If you wish to send a note, please place in an envelope
with the youth’s name on it and label as NCYC, and then place in the collection
basket. These will be collected and distributed at the conference. The
following is a list of those attending the conference:
Amber Ballard, Mary Ballard, Jake Brookshire, Travis Cartwright, Bradley Englert,
Kelly Kneer, Ashley Miller, Alana Miller, Heather Studzinski, Johanna Studzinski,
Jared Thweatt, Patrick Hatton, Eric Darnell, Janice Darnell, Paula Englert, &
Fr. Bruce McCarty.
