Mrs. Margie Belcher, Principal click here to email About Us St. John Elementary School is a small school nestled in the heart of the St. John Community. It is located 5 miles south of Lone Oak off U. S. Hwy 45. The school is a traditionally graded elementary school where the academic excellence of the children is promoted along with their spiritual growth. We offer:
Tuition 2002-2003
Book Fees and Technology Fees are non-refundable. Tuition paid to St. John Elementary is not tax-deductible because services are received for your money. Transportation is provided to and from school by the McCracken County School Bus System for Kindergarten through Fifth Grades provided that the child lives along an established bus route. The school is accredited with the Kentucky Non Public Schools Commission and offers studies in all areas of Language Arts as well as Math, Social Studies, Science and Health and Religion (Christian Studies). St. John employs both a certified Music teacher and Physical Education Teacher. The school has a completely furnished Computer Lab with a full range of computer programs. The children attend computer class regularly, and there are computers in each classroom. The children have access to an ever expanding library which features many Caldecott and Newbery Award winning books. All students (K-5) are actively involved in the Accelerated Reader program which promotes not only practice in taking comprehension tests but also (we hope) a love of good literature as well. St. John is a school involved in service to the community. There is an active 4-H Club which participates yearly in a Skate-a-Thon to raise money for disabled children. The entire student body works to raise money to help prevent child abuse in the Pennies from Heaven program and money is also collected from the children through the Math-a-Thon program which benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. The students at St. John routinely enter essay and poster contests sponsored by local businesses and have been known to show up at area nursing homes during Christmas to entertain the residents. St. John strives to work with the community-at-large to make this school a great place for families. St. John has a rich tradition of academic excellence. Our students are successful in higher education and have become outstanding leaders in many areas. Give us a call at (270) 554-8826 or stop by and visit us at 7450 St. John Church Drive. We are extremely proud of our school and we would love to show you around! |
